If you love playing casino games, you may have heard of some recent expansions and openings in your area. The latest expansion project is the Yaamava’ Resort Casino in California. The $760 million expansion will add three new floors, as well as more slot machines and table games, a high limit room, and new restaurants. The first phase of the expansion is expected to be completed by July 2021, and a new 2,800-seat entertainment venue is expected to open early next year.
The Rock & Brews and Rolling Hills casinos are both undergoing renovations and expansions. One of their expansions involves the creation of a new Mexican restaurant, as well as the addition of three new food concepts. The Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City is the third casino property owned by the Agua Caliente Tribe. It broke ground in June 2019 and hoped to open before Thanksgiving. As a result, it cannot reopen until September 2021, but has already paid $531 million in taxes and fees.

The casino industry has been experiencing a rebound in the last year, as wealthy tourists and local residents returned to casinos to gamble with their hard-earned money. Currently, however, most American casinos are located in the rural areas. Several cities, including Philadelphia and Chicago, have passed laws allowing casinos to open in urban areas.
In November 2018, the Spokane Tribe finished its second phase of a hotel-casino project. This expansion of the Spokane Tribe Casino will double the casino’s floor space. Besides the non-smoking gaming floor, the casino will also feature a dedicated poker room. Moreover, the casino will have a new dining facility, a three-acre pool area, and six table games. In addition, a craps table will reopen in late November.
The Spokane Tribe casino expansion was spearheaded by Warner Gaming. The expansion was built by Swinerton Builders, with Cuningham Group of Minnesota providing design services. Eventually, the expansion is expected to create 150 new jobs and attract tourists to Spokane. The expansion is phase two of a $400 million economic development plan. The plan calls for the construction of a new hotel on 145 acres on U.S. Highway 2, as well as a convention center, dining area, entertainment center, cultural center, and other amenities. When finished, the hotel-casino property will generate more than 2,000 jobs.
The Palms is another major expansion project in Las Vegas. After being closed for over a decade, the Palms was recently purchased by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. The Palms will reopen its doors to the public in April 2020. The Palms was previously owned by Station Casinos and has invested $690 million to renovate it. While the Palms may lack the luster of its former glory, it retains its luster.
